In this monthly column, we talk to d’Doubles employees about their favourite piece of furniture and ask them what’s so alluring and inspiring. This month, we spoke to one of the d’Doubles’ employees, Daniel about his favourite furniture.
Enter the d’Doubles showroom at Tai Seng Avenue and your eyes will not be able to resist the beautiful, stunning Osaka Sofa from renowned Italian brand laCividina. Daniel says: “I come into work every day and my eyes just feast on this eye-catching piece designed by Pierre Paulin”.
The Osaka modular sofa allows for endless configurations by combining and aligning its curved elements. Daniel adds: “It’s so ingenious and practical that you’re able to change the configurations according to the space and purpose. I love that such a exquisite piece of furniture gives you so much room for flexibility. It allows users to be creative with its design”.
“It is also cost efficient as the user just has to change the shape of the sofa randomly to create different spaces instead of getting a completely new sofa,” says Daniel.
He also says: “Of course, I also love the luxurious feel when seated on it”. It is immediately clear why laCividina enjoys such a good reputation as an Italian brand, Daniel adds. He is also a big fan of the designer Pierre Paulin and his works.
He says: “His furniture usually illustrates his fascination with soft, organic forms that are elegant and timeless yet modern. I admire his designs for their clear lines and the creative use of material”.
So where does Daniel think the Osaka sofa is best placed? “Exhibitions, stores and homes. Basically anywhere because its flexibility allows it to be in various places seamlessly”.
